At Stage 4 of the ET.gov process, components have
been demonstrated by communities of practice (CoPs) to be technically
viable and to have practical utility.
Emerging information
technologies "graduate" to become relatively mature
information technology (IT) components and, thus, candidates for
consideration by the CIO Council's (COIC) Services Subcommittee for
inclusion in CORE.gov and/or the
Federal Transition Framework (FTF) Catalog
for
governmentwide usage. Individual government
agencies who have the most compelling business needs and have
participated in the CoPs considering each component will be prime
candidates to become
early adopters.
Components that do not fit into categories already recognized in the
Service Component Reference
Model (SRM) and technical specifications not cataloged in the
Technical Reference Model (TRM) will be referred to the CIOC's
Governance Subcommittee for consideration in the
process for changes to the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) models.
See also the form
previously used for proposing revisions to the FEA and the description
of that process, which references the ET.gov process on page 14 with
respect to maintenance of the TRM in particular. The deadline for
proposed changes
for consideration during the FY 2011
budget cycle was extended from January 12 to January 31,
2009. Folks with .gov or .mil E-mail addresses may obtain access
to MAX
and enter proposed changes directly into a wiki rendition of the models.
We do not have the resources
to
automate this stage yet but components demonstrating the required
degree
of technical maturity and practical utility are listed below:
* Incorporated into the TRM.
